The inside G protein makes the sound.
To complete the door bell analogy, if when the door bell is pressed (aka THC goes into the THC receptor), the inside bell rings (G protein signalling), people come to the door and party (feel high).
Scientists found that without omega-3s, the outside doorbell was disconnected from the inside ringing bell.
What this means is that you can press the door bell (THC activating the outside receptor) all you want, but the inside bell isn’t ringing. So no one comes to the door. And no one parties :(
A disconnected THC receptor is like cutting the wires from the outside door bell to the inside bell. The outside door bell is still there and can be pressed (by THC). But the signal doesn’t make it to the bell. So there is no ringing.
